Hello,

I am Dr. Annes Elsa Francis (the other kind).

I'm an engineer and a dreamer.

I dream of a world where we need fewer engineers.

I dream of a world where we build less. Less, but with more purpose. Less, but adapting, regenerating and enduring.

I dream of a world where we just don’t build because we can, but only because we must.

I dream of a world where we pause and ask why we are creating what we are creating.

To get there, we have to uncover what sparks change: in systems, in communities, and within ourselves. That is what my blogs try to explore - from innovative technology to raw human feelings, it’s all play a role.

At the heart of my work is a philosophy of balance - of old wisdom and new techniques, of stillness and momentum, of obedience and questioning, of acting and waiting, of passion and practised skill.

I have moved across countries, earned a doctorate, worked in multiple languages and immersed myself in many unfamiliar environments - absorbing more than my fair share of cultural shocks.

I am also a daughter, a sister, a lover and a friend.

This space is standing on those lived experiences.

Welcome.
